Facilities at St Georges

A Home Away From Home

St Georges feels like a home ought to be: comfortable, welcoming, relaxed and safe. It’s the little touches that make a big difference, such as fresh flowers, pets and above all our team of staff who put their heart and sole into caring for our residents

Broad range of activities, including entertainers

Activities and entertainment are an important part of life at St Georges. We have three exercise classes a week delivered by qualified instructors. A hairdresser visits the home once a week for any resident who wish to use the service. We have a programme of daily activities which include: baking, hand massages and manicures, quizzes, games and much, much more.

Dining and Nutrition

We prepare all meals in our own kitchen each and every day.   The menus are varied and designed to be nutritionally balanced.   Just as importantly, we can meet the specific nutritional requirements of residents who have special dietary needs.

Our meals are served in a congenial restaurant-style setting or if preferred in the comfort of a resident’s own room.   In addition, snacks and drinks are available 24 hours a day.

Library

Our library is dedicated to a famous local poet, Norman Nicholson and residents will find many of his books, together with a constantly changing supply of other works both classics and present day.   A daily supply of newspapers and magazines adds to the wealth of material on offer to our residents.

Pets welcome

Moving to a new home can be challenging, but being parted from one’s beloved pet can be devastating.  That’s why at St Georges we try to enable residents wherever possible to bring their pets with them.

Wide variety of room types

St Georges has 36 bedrooms, all of which are tastefully decorated to a high standard with the majority having the benefit of en-suite facilities.

We actively encourage our residents to personalise their rooms with photographs, pictures, ornaments and small pieces of furniture to create a familiar environment.

Many rooms have their own personal telephone line and televisions to enhance each resident’s ‘own space’.

All bedrooms are fitted with nurse call facilities.
