Muncaster Castle visit

Muncaster Castle visit

Posted on 31/10/2016

On 3rd October the sun was shining for our first visit to Muncaster Castle.

We all took in the beautiful scenery en-route to Muncaster and all enjoyed a good old cup of tea on the lawns of the castle when we arrived.

Gordon Duff Pennington, the current resident of the Grade I listed Castle kindly came to chat to us upon our arrival. We watched the birds of prey perform their acts in the Autumn sky and got a closer look as they flew towards us.

When we entered the Castle the log fire was roaring in the hearth which welcomed us into the beautiful dining room where a spectacular afternoon tea was laid on for us all to indulge. We enjoyed a variety of home-made sandwiches and cakes and scones with cream and jam.

A thoroughly enjoyable day, with thanks to everyone who made this possible including the driver of the coach who entertained us all with his jokes!

Don’t worry if you didn’t manage to come along this time, we are visiting again on 3rd December. Please speak to Nicola or Jenn at St Georges for further details.
