A beautiful sunny afternoon was the backdrop for the enactment of the story of St George and the slaying of the dragon. Last Saturday, our residents relived this legendary tale in the beautiful gardens of the home. Everybody joined in the fun; the care staff dressed up in costume: the chefs served dragon burgers and heraldic cakes. The manager then presented an educated quiz on the true facts about the life of St George and him becoming the Patron Saint of England.
The resident’s took the advantage of the warm sunny afternoon to sit out in the garden and join in the fun. They loved meeting ‘Magic’, St George’s horse for the day, who paraded around taking the excitement of the afternoon in his stride.
St Jame’s primary school presented the home with a painting of St George and the Dragon, which captured the celebration perfectly.
Jennifer Swainson would like to thank her staff and all who contributed to making this an afternoon to remember.
Hoorah for St George.
